Licensing

The trading-shim is a Open Source project. It is principally licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later (initial releases through July 2007), and for versions released after July 2007, GNU General Public License, version 3 or later, by its copyright holder, trading-shim.com, LLC.

However, as the sole copyright holder or assignee, and exclusive licensor of the trading-shim, trading-shim.com, LLC has and offers the option of sub-licensing its software under alternative commercial terms.

trading-shim.com, LLC continues to develop trade management interface (FIX-based, TWS-API, and other proprietary) applications in a wide variety of systems that need API trade service management capabilities.

 Use for Commercial Software

Some trading-shim.com, LLC content is distributed as open source software under the GNU General Public License (GPL).

We recognize that to some, that license model may not be appropriate for all customers, products, or markets. If you plan to sell products based on trading-shim or our other trading-shim.com, LLC software, you may find advantages to obtaining a commercial license from us. As may be negotiated, such a license might then permit you to modify or add to trading-shim.com, LLC software and to incorporate the results into your own products without the normal GPL obligation of releasing the resulting source code.

Such commercial licenses and commercial support fees are individually negotiated. Access rights to certain non-GPL internal software design documentation, and priority access to trading-shim.com, LLC support and development resources are also available to commercial customers.
