[ts-gen] Unable to retrieve historical data for german stocks

Hello,

running TWS version 886.5 + shim-081003 I'm able to connect to the TWS 
and to execute  "wild" commands as seen in some older postings 
(september) in search for the desired
"contract record unique id numbers".
However, when I try to do "past" requests (within the same session)  
based upon  those supposed  contract numbers  (german stocks / IBIS 
exchange) all I get  is a bunch of complaints  about "Grammar rule" and 
"Syntax error"...
Did I choose the wrong contract numbers or is the command syntax (simply 
copied from previuos posting) wrong ?

Any hints are welcome !
