With regard to your report of segfaults while submitting orders:

For which I pushed a replacement shim-090713:

With respect to which you noted:

Today's release [shim-090717] includes both a fix for the segfaults
and the earlier improvements in memory utilization; you no longer have
to give up the one for the other.
